Our summer excursions 

The following excursions during your summer holiday are free of charge with the Rauris Valley and Taxenbach Guest Card and the National Park Summer Card. Further information is available from the Rauris and Taxenbach tourist office. 

Experience the unspoilt nature of the Rauris Valley on a guided hike. Our experienced hiking guides and national park rangers will lead you through breathtaking landscapes, past rushing waterfalls, green alpine pastures and impressive mountain peaks.

All Nationalpark hikes

Into the valley of the vultures GUIDED NATIONAL PARK EXCURSION

 

Dates: Spring dates: 28. Mai | 02., 09., 18., 23., 30. Juni | 07. Juli 2026
Summer dates: every Wednesday from 15 July to 9 September 2026
Meeting point: Krumltal information hut at 8.45 am, open end at the Bräualm at approx. 1 pm
Costs: Euro 22,- per person, children free when accompanied by their parents (10 - 16 years).
Free with the Rauris Valley Guest Card and the National Park Summer Card.
Registration:

only for the summer dates: Registration possible until 2 hours before the tour at www.npht.at/touren
Registration for the spring and harvest dates directly at the tourist office Rauris until 5pm the day before
Total walking time: Approx. 4 hours, pure walking time approx. 3 hours, approx. 10 kilometres, approx. 450 vertical metres ascent
Requirement: Moderately difficult summer excursion. Hiking or mountain boots with a good tread required, as well as rain and sun protection,
suitable clothing, a change of clothes, and a backpack with drinks and a snack.
Other: Arrival by bus no. 640 to the stop “Bucheben Lechnerhäusl”, then 5 minutes on foot; alternatively by car to Krumltal car park.
Dogs are not allowed.

Valley of vultures

The Rauris primeval forest GUIDED NATIONAL PARK EXCURSION

 

Dates:

Every Monday from 13 July to 7 September 2026
Meeting point: Lenzanger car park (information hut) at 9.00 am, return approx. 1 pm
Costs:

Euro 22,- per person, children and teenagers accompanied by their parents free (10 - 16 years). 
Free with the Rauris Valley Guest Card or the National Park Summer Card.
Additional toll and parking fees apply if arriving by car.
Registration Until 3 hours before the start of the tour at www.npht.at/urwald 
Total walking time: Approx. 4 hours, pure walking time approx. 2.5 hours, approx. 5 kilometres, approx. 250 vertical metres ascent
Requirement: Moderately difficult excursion. Hiking or mountain boots with a good tread required, as well as rain and sun protection,
suitable clothing, a change of clothes, and a backpack with drinks and a snack.
Other: Arrival by bus line 640 to the stop “Kolm Saigurn – Parkplatz Lenzanger” possible, alternatively by car to Lenzanger car park.
Refreshment stop possible after the tour. Dogs are not allowed.
From Palfneralm to Hirzkaralm GUIDED NATIONAL PARK EXCURSION

 

Dates: Every Tuesday from 14 July 2026 to 8 September 2026
Meeting point: Palfneralm at 9.30 am
Costs:

€22 per person. Children and teenagers (ages 10–16) accompanied by their parents participate for free.
Free of charge with the Raurisertal Guest Card or the National Park Summer Card. Price excludes valley taxi.
Registration:

Until 3 hours before the start of the tour at www.npht.at/hirzkaralm
Duration:  Approx. 6 hours, pure walking time approx. 4.5 hours, approx. 12 kilometres, approx. 550 vertical metres ascent
Requirement: Moderately difficult summer excursion. Hiking or mountain boots with a good tread required, as well as rain and sun protection, suitable clothing, a change of clothes, and a backpack with drinks and a snack.
Other: Arrival by valley bus from Rauris directly to Palfneralm possible, alternatively by car to Fleckweide car park; from there on foot or by bike. Refreshment stop possible after the tour. Dogs are not allowed.
Into the Valley of the Alpine Pastures GUIDED NATIONAL PARK EXCURSION
Dates: Every Friday from 17 July 2026 to 11 September 2026 
Meeting point: Palfneralm at 9.30 am
Costs: Euro 22.00 per person. Children and teenagers (7–16 years) accompanied by their parents are free of charge.
Free with the Guest Card or National Park Summer Card.
Price excludes valley taxi.
Registration:

Until 3 hours before the start of the tour at www.npht.at/seidlwinkltal
Duration: Approx. 6 hours, pure walking time approx. 4 hours, approx. 11 kilometres, approx. 400 vertical metres ascent
Requirement:

Easy summer excursion on wide hiking trails. Hiking or mountain boots with a good tread required, as well as rain and sun protection, suitable clothing, a change of clothes, and a backpack with drinks and a snack.
Other:

Arrival by valley bus from Rauris directly to Palfneralm possible, alternatively by car to Fleckweide car park; from there on foot or by bike. Refreshment stops possible during and after the tour. Dogs are not allowed.
