Excursion in the Rauris valley

We invite you to experience nature at its finest.  You're just an easy drive along the Kolm toll road and a 20-minute walk from the valley head of Kolm-Saigurn. Awaiting you are the Barbara Falls, the National Park Museum, the excellent dining of the Ammererhof and "Friends of Nature House", along with an abundance of pristine countryside.

In winter: call the Ammererhof or the "Naturfreundehaus" in Kolm-Saigurn. For a fee, they'll actually come and pick you up from the Bodenhaus. A special highlight: tobogganing by moonlight. Unofficial sledding run along the Kolm-Saigurn toll road.

Das Gebiet der Nationalparkgemeinde Rauris wird auch das Tal der Geier genannt. Und das nicht ohne Grund: 1986 startete hier eines der Europa weit bedeutendsten Artenschutzprojekte zur Wiederansiedlung des Bartgeiers im Alpenraum. Seit August 2008 Greifvogelattraktion reicher, im Ortsteil Wörth wird das 'Haus Könige der Lüfte' eröffnet. Gleichzeitig wird damit ein weiterer Schritt im Infrastruktur Konzept der Nationalparkverwaltung verwirklicht: ausgehend vom Nationalparkzentrum in Mittersill, wo alle Nationalpark relevanten Themenbereiche gestreift werden, sollen sich in der Nationalparkregion kleinere aber qualitativ sehr hochwertige Ausstellungen ganz speziellen und für die einzelnen Tauerntäler typischen Themen widmen. Visit the Landgasthof Weixen's very own microbrewery. Watch as beer is brewed.  And aside from the fascinating brewery, there is, of course, a lot more to see and experience. The fishing ponds contain salmon trout.  In addition to fishing, the kids can also jump on the giant trampolines, or even mingle with the llamas at the petting zoo.
