Hiking in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park

Over 295 km of marked hiking paths and trails make the Raurisertal in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park to one of the biggest hiking areas in the SalzburgerLand. During the summer season you can enjoy self-made products on the nearly 40 open pastures.

Experience the power of nature - during pleasant pasture-hikes or on a highly-alpine tour in the breathtaking scenery of the Raurisertal. On guided tours with a Nationalpark-Ranger you discover the most beautiful - and often hidden - treasures of the 30 km long Raurisertal and its 5 side-valleys.

Each side-valley has its own special character and charme: traders and pilgrams have left their mark on the Seidlwinkltal with the 500 year old Tauernhaus, in the Krumltal - the valley of vultures - you can watch bearded vultures, griffon vultures and eagles, the Forsterbachtal is famous for its legends and the Gaisbachtal for its amazing flora. In the Hüttwinkltal and the unique end of the valley "Kolm Saigurn" you experience "golden moments" and find proofs of the gold-digger-time. You can take part in the guided excursion through the Rauriser Urwald, a primeval forest with 300 year old spruces and over 800 small, dark ponds.
Further attractions are the varied themed hiking trails in the Raurisertal. The Rauriser Hochalmbahnen enable you to reach the Hochalm without any efforts. Mountaineers climb the Hohe Sonnblick with Europe´s highest weather observatory on top (3.106m) and the other 3000m high summits of the Goldberg-Group. The Raurisertal, the secret juwel of the Hohe Tauern National Park, offers countless opportunities for an unforgettable hiking holiday in Austria - for beginners as well as for ambitious mountaineers.
